you enter the door of Welcome Stitchery, you are greeted by a large
collection of stitched Welcomes as well as a friendly staff. Our
shop was started in 1988 in an old Victorian 2 story house in downtown
Crystal Lake, Illinois. As our products and services expanded we
out grew our quaint residential setting. We are now located in a
more spacious and accessible facility in the retail area of Old
Downtown Crystal Lake. Our 48 Brink Street facility is located directly
across from the Brink Street Market Shops and the Grant Street municipal
parking lot. Although more spacious, each room still overflows with
all the items true stitchers love and novice stitchers want to learn

We feature over 300 different types of fabrics in an array of colors and weaves for all sorts of creative cross stitch applications and projects. Our large selection of fibers in a variety of colors and textures includes: DMC and Anchor floss; Weeks Dye Works, Sampler Threads, Crescent Colours, Olde Willow hand-dyed floss, Six Strand Sweets and Needle Necessities Overdyed floss; Needlepoint Silk, Gloriana hand-dyed silk threads, Soie D' Alger, GT Flower Thread, Marlitt, Kreinik metallics, Watercolours, Wildflowers, Waterlilies, Silk 'n Colors, Impressions, Rainbow Gallery threads, DMC Perle Cotton, Medici wools, Light Effects metallic threads and many others. In addition to custom and heirloom framing services, a large selection of classic, hand painted and unique ready made frames are available.
